Xinjiang Tianshan

Xinjiang Tianshan was inscribed as a World Natural Heritage Site in 2013.

Xinjiang Tianshan comprises 4 components within China–Tomur, Kalajun-Kuerdening, Bayinbukuke, and Bogda–which cover over three-quarters of the total length of the Tianshan mountain range, spanning across the entire Xinjiang region. The property provides a striking visual contrast between hot and cold environments, dry and wet, grand and delicate. Moreover, Xinjiang Tianshan serves as a habitat for numerous rare and endangered species in the Central Asian mountains.

Xinjiang Tianshan represents an outstanding example of the ongoing process of biological and ecological evolution in the temperate arid zone. They exhibit significant landscape diversity and showcase a unique natural beauty.
